International Meeting with the students

Students from Turkey, Romania, and Jordan had their first meeting online. They introduced themselves in the first place. After that, they created a wordcloud via Mentimeter. Last but not the least, they presented the e-books they prepared a week ago. The context of the e-books were about fake news in their countries during pandemic. It was a great experience for our students.

Another international meeting with students

Tonight, we arranged the first international meeting as a second group.
The members of our group are from Jordan, Romania and Turkey.
First, teachers and students introduced themselves one by one. Then, Yasemin teacher prepared word cloud for the students via Mentimeter and students wrote three words relating to media literacy. We evaluated the words on the screen with the students.
Also,each country presented their E-books. These E-books consisted of the situation in the countries and examples of fake-news in these countries.
Interacting with each other from different parts of the world was a great experience for us.

Firstly, the students introduced themselves and then presented their works (eBooks) on Cov-19 fake news in their countries and around the world. They also talked about their reactions towards this fake news.
The students were so pleased to meet friends from different parts of the world. They enjoyed a lot.

Students got trained on the types of fake news, disinformation, and misinformation about Covid-19, inoculating against fake news about Cov-19, the science against fake news, and also learned how to use web2 tools (storyjumper, visme ebook, canva, postermywall, bitmoji, pixton). After the training, the students played Kahoot game and reinforced their learnings.

Now students know how to use different Web 2.0. Tools for their educational and personal purposes.

The meeting about the project for the students, where they prepared presentations and materials for a media literacy project. They discussed fake news, misinformation, disinformation, Signal, Telegram and other messaging applications and the threats deriving from some of them.
2nd training at the özejder social sciences high school
Today held the 2nd training, where students were able to know more about the fake news, fake information and its types, fake news of Covid-19, fighting against Covid-19 fake news, inoculating against fake news and introducing some kinds of Web 2 tools. End of the training, they played Kahoot which they tried to answer the questions related 2nd Training topics.

2nd organisational meeting of teachers
Another organisational meeting of teachers has been held on April 16.
Project founder, Mr. Temur Jvarsheishvili made a presentation about the second phase of the project.
Teachers have discussed the next steps and activities for students, as well as 21st century skills of Web 2.0 tools.

Training was about the media literacy and related contents. Students learned how to spot fake news and improve their reading skills, what message the media is trying to portray, what is hybrid warfare and which social media messaging apps are safe.

Online and offline meetings to get started
We held our first video conference meeting with our students who will be actively involved in the project. Students were informed about media literacy, which is the subject of our project. We discussed what the next steps will be to develop and disseminate the project. students thanked for gaining awareness of media literacy as part of the project.
